My triple stroller is no more

ok, I have learned an expensive lesson. Never buy a cheap stroller. I just had to go spend about 455 US for a new triple stroller on ebay, but a good brand this time. a Peg Perego. So I actually did well because its worth 800 US. So I saved about 400 dollars. My baby trend triple stroller's handles are literally down to my knees. I am not exaggerating or joking. :) People are actually stopping me on the street to ask what happened to it. One of the teachers at my son's school said it's painful to just watch me push it LOL. My back is killing me. My almost 5 year old is helping me steer because the handles are down to the perfect level for him to steer. Me, I am using the canopy from the rears seat to steer it in the mean time. I am disgusted with baby trend. They did not return any of my calls in customer service to help me fix the stroller over the past while. Every time I called I got the machine. one of the teachers at my son's school told me baby trend is a cheaply run operation. I could tell. I am sorry I wasted my money. Now I am on stroller number 4. I have heard great things though about peg perego strollers. So I feel confident that I won't manage to break this one. Sigh.

Let's see, so far I have had a century single stroller (back wheels fell off after 1 year of usage). then I got a graco double stroller. Right wheel fell off and axle broke. Then I have (had) a baby trend triple stroller. The frame is so bent the handles are down to my knees!. on to the peg perego triple. Hopefully I won't need to replace it again. I have heard there are places that will repair peg peregos for a good price in the area, so if it needs servicing, chances are it will be fixed.I just have to hold tight till it gets shipped, which should be next week G-d willing. I wonder how much customs canada will soak me for this time.

Just as an off note, they actually make quad strollers! 2 in the front two in the back. I wonder how you get through doors though? it looked pretty wide.

I have been tired lately so I am trying to post earlier in the day while I am still peppy. :)
this was actually a long post today. Yay. Now I have laundry to do. will try to post more later in the week.

Yawn

I'm sorry I haven't posted much this week. Been tired lately. So far, no more problems with my son's school, thank G-d. My daughter had a fall at school when the class went to a trip to the park, and scraped her arm. the teacher told me she cried the rest of the day off and on, but the next day she was back to normal.

My birthday is on this upcoming Wednesday. I will be 28 on the 28th. :) Feel free to paypal me 28 dollars in honor of my 28th birthday :))) Just kidding. :)

In other news, Sunday my son will begin the first round of tests in the psychoeducational assessment. Should be interesting to see the results when its all finished.

Monday is back to school (curriculum night) at my daughter's school.
That's pretty much it for now.

I am on the phone with my mommy WIll try to post more later.

Nurse Mommy

Hubby is sick with the tummy flu, now, #1 and possibly #2 are sick. #1 came to me around 3 am saying he felt sick, and then I took his temp, and its 102. he also has tummy flu. then #2 started saying her tummy hurt too. I took her temp, and its very iffy, but I think I should keep her home. She has 99.8. Almost a fever but not quite. My pediatrician doesn't consider anything below 100 a fever, but this is .2 away from it. She says her tummy hurts. I think I will err on the side of caution and keep her home. Scratch that, she is staying home. She just had a "digestive experience". Hubby is foolishly going to work despite running a fever. Maybe I can convince him to stay home when he is more awake. I just hope I or #3 or $4 catch it. Yikes.

Back to sleep now, at least for a while anyway.

I wonder what my son's school will think when I call him out sick. Yesterday when I picked him up his teacher was still ranting about his shoes. I told her if it wasn't for my husband I would yank him out of this school right now. Now i have to call him in sick. Oh well...

STRRRRRRIKE TWO!!!!

I hate my son's school. I am begging my husband to let me pull him out and for the remainder of the year put him in public school but I know we can't, and he is against it anyway. Today when I picked him up for my daughter's eye appointment we had to go to that was kind of far, the teacher said, look at his shoes. they are too big. then she took off his shoes and put his foot against the back of the sole. I told her I just had him sized last month from an upscale shoe store, and that it was professionally fitted. she said no, its a safety issue, blah blah blah. but I told her the size down from that was too small. so she told me to send him to school in slippers. then she told me to go to walmart, and I told her I don't feel comfortable doing that because I am not good at sizing him for shoes myself. I don't mind buying thigns from walmart but when it comes to kids shoes, you need to have them fit properly. So I went to the store on the way to the eye appointment and had him resized. the shoes DO fit. Then I called the school from the store, and spoke to the teacher who did not believe me so I handed the phone to the sales clerk who told her. The teacher disagreed wit her at first. in the end she finally accepted this was the right size for my son. In addition the teacher decided my son's eye glasses needed a band to keep them from falling. I told her I used to have one and he won't wear it. then she took off his glasses and said look at this, they are stretched out, blah blah blah. Well, guess what lady! I practically live in sears optical ok??? I am there weekly getting adjustments for both my kids glasses. I just didn't have time this week with school going on. I was livid when I left the school. I was literally shaking with anger at this school's chutzpah. where the hell do they get off??? I told the teacher if she has a problem with his shoes, then she can give me 70 dollars back for this pair. first the pee diaper, then the shoes and glasses. I have had it. my daughter's school doesn't do this stupidity. How many months to school ends?? :) First I was counting down till school begins but after the crap I have had in only the first week of school I want school to be over. I should not have to have an anxiety attack every time I have to pick up my son from school. Sigh.

On a different note, my daughter needs a stronger prescription. not eye surgery B"H. anyway I am pooped. So I will post more later, or sooner if my son's school decides to be stupid again.

School Daze, School Daze...

so now we are in the middle of the second week of school. My son is going apple picking with his class Monday. He should be in his glory, he is addicted to apples :) He and my daughter can plow through a whole bag in 2 days. Maybe I should plant my own apple tree in the backyard :) My daughter isn't going on any trips with her class. So far, she has managed to get herself soaking wet 3 times since school started. She is playing in the bathroom sink after she goes potty LOL. That is why I have a lot of dresses for her. She can go through 3 or 4 outfits in one day :)

Today is her eye appointment. I will find out if she needs surgery to correct a weak muscle or if she needs a new prescription. I have to put those darn drops in again. Should be real fun. Sigh.

Not much else doing. My sinus tachycardia is acting up today. I guess I should not have pushed that triple stroller with 2 of my kids and the backseat full of heavy groceries a mile home today. Blah.

Kid #3 is having a meltdown because I am not letting him climb up on my dresser. Must go now. Will post more later. :)

Strrrrrrrrrike one!

It is only the first day of school and I am already having problems with my son's school. I have had problems in the past with them due to what i feel is their invasive questioning on non issues, such as me walking my kids to school (I have no car. unless they plan on buying me a minivan they should keep quiet. and if the weather is bad outside, I always have my hubby's mom who could drive him) B"H my child does not have health problems like most of those kids at that school where if G-d forbid he goes out in the cold, despite appropriate weather gear he could get sick. He is not frail B"H. The only thing he has is he can't sit still for 2 seconds (ADHD). I guess because it's a school for special needs children, they feel they need to be more probing to help the families, but today was totally ridiculous . we are working hard on toileting him, he is almost there, yes he is late, but the doc said it's most like due to his short attention span, and the fact that most of the kids in last years class were not trainable, and he is pretty stubborn. Our goal is next year to put him into a Jewish day school that caters to nothing but ADHD children, but he MUST be toilet trained. so the school he is in now will be working hard on that. Anyway, getting back to why I am peeved. I picked him up from school today to be asked by the teacher if I sent him to school in the same diaper as last night because he was soaked. I was so offended. OF COURSE I CHANGED HIS PULL UP THIS MORNING!!! Why on earth would she think I didn't? Because I have 4 kids 5 and under?? For some reason that seems to be a problem for this school that I have my kids close in age, not that it's any of their damn business. I politely told the teacher I changed his pull up this morning and that maybe he just had a lot of pee in him between the time I changed him and the time she changed him in school. It WAS several hours. I told her from now on I will change him 2 times before I leave, once upon awakening and once right before we leave. I told her I didn't appreciate her thinking I did not change him and she said she didn't really think that, she was just wondering, because he was so wet. But I decided, upon getting home, I was not going to put up with another year of nonsense. I called the principal and told her why were they making an issue out of pee diapers? what are they doing, measuring his pee??? (I can't believe I said that LOL). She told me I was being too sensitive and that probably they were just wondering if this was normal for him, etc etc. I always look after everything with my kids and I always change them, etc. I don't care if she was just asking, she was rude for asking if I sent him to school in the same diaper. I resent that, and I do not want to see my son in public school kindergarten but I can't see putting up with this garbage for a whole year either. I told the principal this is the only school that asks such rude questions and she told me because for "special needs" they require more intensive teaching, etc so the teachers need more info. Whatever.
I have been up since 6:15 am and am tired. So good night. Will post more tomorrow
BTW my daughter LOVED her first day of school and had a blast. :) Now if I can get this blue paint off her new dress LOL. :)

Living la baby loca

I was bored and made up my version of Living la vida Loca but I am too shy to share it :P. I think I will just email it to my sister instead. she is the recipent of lots of my unique and interesting songs and poems I make up :P. I am bored, can you tell? LOL.

Tomorrow is the first day of school. As eager as I am for school to start, I think I will be a bit weepy when it comes tomorrow and I take #2 to her very first day of school ever. she will be in nursery school. I am sure she will be fine. I think it will be me who is weepy, even though she drove me crazy all summer. :) I am not worried about #1 going to school, he is an old pro at this by now :) The first day of school for him ever was 3 years ago, and it was very hard for him. I remember hearing him scream for me all the way from the floor above his classroom. now of course he is much better at saying bye, see you later. He is going to be 5 in October. he is also pretty tall in my opinion, or maybe I am just reall short :)

Anyway, now I have this Ricky Martin song stuck in my head and I need to go listen to my mp3 of it, so I will post more tomorrow.
For now I will be livng la baby loca. :)

Maybe I need a nap too LOL.

How I spent my day at Sobeys

Well, this morning, I took my 4 kids to sobeys, or attempted to rather. My 3 1/2 year old started to become difficult, not listening to me, jumping in puddles, and being wild. So I decided that it would be not a great idea to attempt a food shopping with her behaving this way. So I went home and had my mother in law watch them and took my 5 year old with me. So, we do a whole food shopping and call a cab, a company I have used for years. I got this extremely rude Russian driver who took a look at me with my hair covering and my son with a kippa and all my groceries and told me no, and started to drive a way. So I called him a bastard. :) (not the best choice of words for my son to hear, I know, and I regret that, but I was pretty steamed at the driver) so he came back and said ok, fine, you need a taxi fine, and then he said I was wasting his time and money because now he has to help me put my bags away in the the trunk. So I told him never mind I didn't feel comfortable going into his car with the way he was treating me. So he took off, and I called the cab company back up, telling the dispatcher what happened. He told me a minivan is 7 extra dollars and I told him I don't need one, that I have been using this company regularly to go shopping and it always fit in the trunk. he apologized, but just then another taxi from a different company pulled up and offer to take me and my son and groceries home. I thanked him profusely, and he helped me put the groceries away into the trunk and unload them when I got home. After I unpacked my groceries I discovered I left my Tide at the store. so I had to give my kids a quick snack and walk back to sobeys to get it. My daughter was misbehaving again walking there and I ended up having to carry her and push the triple stroller, not an easy feat. then, after I got the tide, and left, she decided halfway home, while we passed through a park she was done with walking and sat down. It was hot, and I had also gotten some milk I had forgotten to get before when I picked up the tide, so I was anxious to get home before it spoiled. I noticed an abandoned shopping cart, and decided, well, it's abandoned, it's not from any store around here, and I need to get home. so I put her in the childseat in the shopping cart, buckled her up, and pushed the stroller with one hand while pulling the cart. Suffice it to say, I got some weird stares and dirty looks. Hey, I am not the one who took the cart!! It was left there in the park. I will return it though to the proper store. That is the right thing to do. Now my back and arms are really sore and I feel exhausted. Pizza tonight. :) and BTW school starts in just a few days. Yahoo! :P
